Everything at Disney may be pricy, but even then, a $45 ticket to an arcade tends to throw people off.
What is hard for people to imagine or wrap their heads around is that being in Disney Quest is like being transported into a virtual reality. It may be an arcade- but it's nothing like anything else you've ever experienced.
There are four distinct zones, each with their own awesome 'games' that are really more like rides. For example, The explore zone lets you paddle a real raft down a virtual jungle cruise (spoiler alert- there are dinosaurs) the raft is set on top of a big inflatable ballon-like platform that moves, deflates, creates tension, whatever it needs to do to make you feel like you are really paddling. In a similar adventure, you can ride the black pearl and shoot virtual cannons at other "ships".
The score zone lets you shoot more "cannonballs" (real ones this time) at cars for points in a buzz-lightyear inspired spaceship bumper car game. The create zone lets you design your own roller coaster and then RIDE IT in amazing simulators that feel like the real thing. It does flips and barrel rolls and everything. The replay zone is where you will find more 'traditional' games- you can load up prepaid cards to use on classics like pac man, space invaders frogger and more.
The virtual park is open from 11:30am to 10:00 pm. There are dining options inside, but I think you can also leave to eat at Downtown Disney and then come back in. I'd ask before trying it though.
Official ticket prices are: Adults 10+ $45.80 at the door/$38.00 online and kids 9- $40.00 at the door/$33.00 online.
My opinion? It's completely worth it. I had so much fun and I would go back in a heartbeat. What's even better, is that there is a Disney Ticket option where you can combine prices to include Disney Quest or a water park.
